We also offer Spanish lessons - a grammar and a simple vocabulary, plus around a hundred useful spoken phrases, in which Peruvian offers you the local pronunciation, very distinct from Peninsular Spanish.

Cooking and food in general is addressed with a big section all to itself, with several hundred authentic recipes, many accompanied by photographs. We give you advice on what to eat, and where and when to eat it. Other sections consider fun - sports of all kinds, shopping and restaurant-hopping, entertainment and regional attitudes to sexuality.

Regional differences in cuisine and in festivals are extreme and great fun. It is helpful to time your trip to coincide with local fiestas, such as the Cotahuasi patronal, or main festival. Our travel experts can help you to set this up.
